A spreadsheet, a budgeting appor Figa?

Budgeting apps follow what you already spent. Spreadsheets do whatever you build. Figa plans the bills that come back, before they are due.

Pick by what you need

Figa fits some jobs. Not every one.

Figa fits when you

  • pay rent, utilities, subscriptions, installments or yearly renewals
  • want to know what next month and the months after need
  • would rather not connect a bank account
  • share the bills with a partner, a client or a team
  • want your AI assistant to read or update them

Something else fits better when you

  • want every card payment imported from your bank: use a budgeting app with bank sync
  • need invoicing or double-entry bookkeeping: use accounting software
  • want a fully custom model with your own formulas: keep the spreadsheet

Spreadsheets and budgeting apps differ a lot. “Varies” means it depends on the one you use.

Moving from a spreadsheet

Bring the bills you already track.

1

Export your sheet

Save the bills you track as a CSV file.

2

Import or add

Import the CSV on Pro, or add your bills by hand on Free.

3

Set the schedules

Give each bill its schedule. The months ahead fill in from there.

Recurring bill tracker

Recurring bill tracker, spreadsheet or budgeting app.

How the three approaches differ, and how to choose.

Budgeting apps look back

Most budgeting apps connect to your bank and sort the transactions that already happened. They are good at showing where money went, and less focused on what the coming months will need.

Spreadsheets do what you build

A spreadsheet can model anything, but schedules, installments, forecasts and sharing are formulas and habits you maintain yourself, every month.

Figa plans what comes back

Figa starts from the bills you know you pay. Each keeps its schedule, so every coming month shows its total, what is paid and what is still to pay, without a bank connection.
