# Mark bills paid

Record a payment for one bill or many at once, on today’s date or each bill’s own date, and undo it if needed.

Marking a bill paid records that you paid it, so the month shows what is done and what is left. It does not send money: you still pay your bills the way you always do.

## Mark one bill paid

Open the bill and select **Mark as paid**. The bill shows **Paid on** and the date, and the month's payment progress updates. Paid by mistake? Select **Mark as unpaid**.

For a variable bill, enter the amount from the invoice and choose **Save and mark as paid** to do both in one step. **Save amount** alone keeps the bill unpaid.

## Pay several bills at once

1. In the month's expense list, select the bills you paid.
2. In **Selected expenses**, choose **Mark as paid**.
3. To record each payment on the bill's own date rather than today, turn on **Paid on expense dates** first. This helps when you catch up on bills you paid earlier.

Three bills selected, paid on their own dates.

Figa tells you how many bills changed. Bills that were already paid are left as they were. Right after the change, **Undo** reverts it.

## Overdue bills

An unpaid bill past its date shows as **Overdue**. The Dashboard's **To pay** card lists overdue bills and bills due in the next 7 days, so you can clear them in one place. To get a reminder before a bill is due, see [Reminders and notifications](https://getfiga.com/help/notifications).

**Skipped is not paid**

If a bill did not happen this time, skip it instead of marking it paid. A skipped occurrence expects no payment and stays visible as **Skipped**. See [Recurring bills](https://getfiga.com/help/recurring-bills).
